Tesla Model X
and the Ford
Mustang Mach E are performance electric vehicles with loads of power and excellent range, but there are plenty of differences between the two. For us, the most notable difference is price. You can get the highest-trim Mustang Mach E for a starting price of $63,095. The lowest-priced trim starts at $44,995.The Tesla Model X, on the other hand, comes in two trims. The Tesla X Long Range starts at $116,440, and the Tesla X Plaid starts at $140,440.
Here’s a comparison between the closest price points—the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach E GT with the 2022 Tesla Model X Long Range.
- Exterior design: The Tesla Model X exterior looks similar to a Model 3, without many design cues indicating it’s a performance vehicle. The Mustang Mach E looks like a Mustang.
- Maximum horsepower: The Tesla Model X gets up to 670 hp, while the Mach E gets 480 hp.
- Range: The Tesla Model X has a battery range of up to 351 miles. The Ford Mustang Mach E GT’s battery range goes up to 270 miles.
