Do I have to replace my roof if my insurer requested this?
My insurer sent me a letter stating that I need to replace the roof of my house within nine months because it has visible damage. Do I actually have to replace my roof just because it was requested by the insurer?

“No, you don’t have to replace the roof unless you’re 100% sure that you want to stay with that insurer.
Keep in mind that a new roof probably costs a minimum of $10,000, so even if you get a few hundred dollars in savings from bundling

with this insurer, it may not be worth it. While you’ll have to replace your roof eventually, a different company may not require you to for coverage. Switching insurers could buy you a few years to save up for the roof replacement.
