Do electric cars use gas?

I’m interested in getting an electric vehicle, but I’m much more familiar with gas-powered vehicles. The cost seems pretty steep and I’m concerned about the range I could go on a charge. I’m wondering, in case of an emergency, do electric vehicles also use gas?

It’s great that you’re considering buying an
electric vehicle
since legislation and technology seem to be pushing us towards that future.
All-electric cars do not use gas. Electricity is stored in a battery which in turn operates the vehicle. While fully electric vehicles do not use gas, hybrid vehicles do. Hybrid vehicles use a combination of battery-powered technology and gas.
