Do electric cars need to get inspected in PA?

We just moves to Pennsylvania last month and it’s super nice here! I had a quick question about annual inspection since every state does it differently, do I need to get my electric car inspected in PA?

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the move so far! Pennsylvania is a great spot. Regarding your car, yes you will still need to get an annual vehicle inspection but EVs are exempt from emissions tests.
Federal US law demands that every vehicle be subject to inspection to ensure the safety of drivers on the road. Since EVs, hybrids, and PHEVs have low to no emissions, the emissions test becomes redundant.
You will need an exemption decal sticker for your car in order to identify your vehicle as exempt. To get one, take your vehicle to an inspection station and apply for an exemption sticker. The station may charge you for the sticker.
