Do camera tickets go on your driving record?

There are lots of places in Chicago where you can get a ticket for running a red light or speeding if the camera there takes a picture of you. Do these red light camera tickets still go on your driving record?

Camera tickets will automatically go on your driving record in some states, but not in others! Fortunately, in Illinois, a red light camera ticket isn’t considered a moving violation, so it won’t go on your record at all.
However,
speeding tickets
will go on your record whether they are from a police officer or a camera. The number of points that you’ll get will depend on how far over the speed limit you were driving, so you could get anywhere from five to 50 points for a speeding ticket.
Speeding tickets can also raise your insurance premiums. Luckily, the

app makes it quick and easy to find the best rates available on the coverage you need– no long forms or phone calls necessary. Just download the app and answer some quick questions to see quotes customized for you.
