Did the Pontiac G6 come with a manual transmission?
I want to buy a used Pontiac—probably a G6—but only if I can find one that’s a stick shift. Does that exist?

Pontiac G6
models came with an optional manual transmission, but not many. In 2006 and partway through 2007, the pricer Pontiac G6 GTP
trim came standard with a four-speed automatic transmission, but a six-speed manual was optional. In 2007, Pontiac dropped the six-speed option for the GTP. And if you’re looking for a convertible, you’ll be out of luck—all the G6 convertibles were automatic.
The G6 was produced for the 2005-2010 model years with the following transmission options:
- 2005: 4-speed automatic
- 2006: 4- and 5-speed automatic, 6-speed manual
- 2007: 4- and 5-speed automatic, 6-speed manual
- 2008: 4- and 5-speed automatic
- 2009-2010: 4-, 5-, and 6-speed automatic
