The only issue that comes into play would be the high cost of upgrading your battery. A 40-kWh battery upgrade could run you up to $13,000, while a 62-kWh might end up costing you between $12,000 and $15,000 depending on your location and where you take your electric car for the battery upgrade.
Nissan offers a battery pack warranty that’s good for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. And you might be able to get a free upgrade to a 40-kWh battery replacement, as the car manufacturer recently announced that all Leafs with a 30-kWh battery would receive this deal considering the degrading performance of the original battery.
Make sure to reach out to your local Nissan dealership to see if you qualify!
