Can you talk on the phone while driving in Florida?

I’m about an hour away from the beach and I like to give my friends a call while I drive there on the weekends. Can I talk on the phone while driving? That’s legal in Florida, right?

Always nice to catch up with friends!
Florida
law permits talking on the phone while driving but prohibits manually typing while driving.
There is one exception to the rule. Hands-free devices are required to speak on the phone in specific areas like school zones, work zones, and construction zones. Outside of these areas, you can speak on the phone freely—although it’s always safer to use hands-free devices.
But remember, any form of distracted driving increases your risk of being involved in a car accident. Safe driving can help keep your
