Can you get a DUI for driving high in New Mexico?

I know that marijuana has become more of a factor in state laws, and I’m just wondering how that would apply to traffic laws. Does New Mexico give out DUIs for driving while high as they do for driving while drunk?

You’re right that marijuana is becoming a more complicated issue since it’s been legalized in some states and not in others. Yes, you can get a DUI for driving high in
New Mexico
—and in all other states in the US, too.
While it might seem like marijuana should have a separate set of laws, DUI laws can be applied to any illicit substance including illegal drugs, prescriptions, alcohol, and marijuana. If you’re not able to safely drive your vehicle, you can be charged with a DUI.
