You cannot flat tow a Kia Niro unless you’re in an emergency. Flat towing the Kia Niro damages the powertrain and transmission, which can cause significant damage and void the warranty. Additionally, your

will likely be denied due to towing your Niro inappropriately or contrary to the directions in your owner’s manual.The only acceptable way to tow a Kia Niro is with a flatbed trailer that lifts all four wheels off the ground. Since the Niro uses regenerative braking to recharge the battery, flat towing can damage this system, and subsequently, the rest of the drivetrain.
