Can you flat tow a 2022 Ford Explorer?
For the past decade, I’ve only owned Ford Explorers. My lease is up, so I’m finally ready for a new model. The only problem is that I also bought an SUV and I want to take the Explorer with me on trips. Is it possible to flat tow a 2022 Ford Explorer?

Unfortunately, you cannot flat tow the 2022 Ford Explorer. It’s built on the Ford D4 platform, which wasn’t designed for flat towing. Doing so can significantly damage the drivetrain and transmission, so avoid flat towing unless you’re in an emergency. Consult page 291 of your owner’s manual for more details.
