Can you flat tow a 2021 Ford Ranger 4x4?
I’m interested in buying a new truck to go off-roading in, but only if it’s flat-tow capable. The 2021 Ranger 4x4 is at the top of my list, so I’m crossing my fingers that it works. Is it possible to flat tow a 2021 Ranger?

Good news! You can definitely tow the 2021 Ford Ranger 4x4, regardless of the trim or what engine you have under the hood. Just make sure to follow the information from page 228 of your owner’s manual to ensure you don’t cause any inadvertent damage.
If you want to tow your Ranger 4x4, follow these instructions:
- Turn the ignition to the on position, but don’t start the engine.
- Press and hold the brake pedal down.
- Change your mode to 2H by using the four-wheel drive selector switch.
- Shift the transmission to neutral.
- Enable neutral tow by selecting settings in the information display menu.
- Select vehicle.
- Select neutral tow.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Leave the transmission in neutral.
