Can you flat tow a 2014 Honda CRV?
I have a 2014 Honda CRV that’s been with me since I drove it off the lot. However, I’m going to transition to living in my motorhome soon; I just want to make sure I can easily keep my 2014 CRV with me. Is it possible to flat tow a 2014 CRV?

Fortunately, you can flat tow a 2014 Honda CRV without any problems. In fact, the 2014 edition was the last model year that allowed flat towing—anything newer and you’d be out of luck.
When you’re flat towing, just make sure to follow these steps to avoid any damage:
- Check the transmission fluid level, by making sure the fluid level is between the upper and lower marks.
- Start the engine.
- Press the brake pedal
- Move the shift lever through all its positions.
- Shift to drive and hold for five seconds.
- Shift to neutral and let the engine run for three minutes, then turn it off.
- Release the parking brake.
- Leave the ignition switch in accessories, making sure the steering wheel does not lock.
- Turn off all the electric devices and do not use any accessory power sockets.
- You’re ready to tow!
