I’m selling my 2014 Ford Escape to a buyer who lives in California, but I’m from Nevada. I plan to drive there, but can I safely flat tow it behind my truck?

No—you cannot safely flat tow a 2014 Ford Escape. Flat towing your Escape can damage the vehicle or transmission, which is why you won’t generally find base plates or wiring kits available for the Escape. Models produced from 2013 to 2020 are not approved for flat towing, and Ford recommends that you instead tow your Escape using a tow dolly, transport trailer, or flatbed.
