I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I want to take on our cross-country road trip. Can I flat tow it behind the RV, or will it damage the vehicle?

, but your specific model must be equipped with “4LO”—a low-speed 4-wheel-drive. If you’re unsure whether your Grand Cherokee has 4LO, check your owner’s manual. Jeep recommends against flat towing, as it can cause damage to your transmission. However, they do say that 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokees with Quadra-Trac II/Quadra-Drive II can be flat towed, but avoid flat towing a 2WD model or a 4WD model with the Quadra-Trac I/Single-Speed Transfer Case option, as it can damage the transmission.
In any case, always check your Jeep Grand Cherokee owner’s manual before proceeding to flat tow.
