Can you flat tow a 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4?

My wife, kids, and grandkids are heading out on a 3-week RV trip, and we’re planning to bring my 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 to drive around. Can we tow it behind the RV?

A 3-week family RV trip sounds like a great time! You can tow a 2011
Ford Ranger
4x4 only if it’s equipped with a manual transmission. 2WD and 4WD/4x4 models can be towed, but they should always be put in 2WD and the Electronic Shift-On-the-Fly rotary control in 2-high position before towing. When flat towing, do not exceed a speed of 55 mph.
To confirm whether your 2011 Ford Ranger 4x4 can be towed, refer to your owner’s manual. If you’ve lost or misplaced your manual, you may be able to find a version online—or contact your local Ford dealer.
Before you head out on your RV adventure, check your car insurance policy to see if it covers everything you need. If it doesn’t, don’t panic—
