Timing is very important when it comes to extending your BMW warranty. You’ll want to make sure you buy your extended warranty before the factory warranty expires. BMW’s standard factory warranty for new vehicles is four years/50,000 miles (whichever comes first) and begins the moment you drive your beamer off the lot.
If you miss this window, however, not all hope is lost. You can typically still get coverage from a third-party provider, but the coverage may not be identical and could take a little more research. But even if you make the window, you should prepare to drop a lot of moolah—upwards of $7,000 for a three-year Platinum extended warranty plan!
