Can roadside assistance help if your electric car runs out of power?

"Would roadside assistance cover me if my EV ran out of power? I'm driving across the country soon. I'm nervous that my car is going to run out of charge along the way."

“While electric cars are increasing in popularity, there can be some distance in between charging stations. If you’re travelling across the country and end up running out of charge, roadside assistance should be able to help.
While most companies won’t be able to charge your vehicle where it died, they will tow you to the nearest charging station. Depending on the type of vehicle you have and it’s age, most car companies offer this service for free.
If your vehicle is under warranty or was just purchased, you should check with the dealership or company to find out whether this is included with your roadside assistance. You can also look into other companies or your car insurance carrier to find out what they cover.
Either way, you shouldn’t have to worry about being stranded should you misjudge the distance to a station.”
