Can police use radar while driving in the opposite direction?

I passed a police car driving in the opposite direction and the next thing I know, he pulled me over! He said he clocked me at 50 miles an hour in a 35, and gave me a speeding ticket! I’m debating fighting the ticket in court, but before I do I would like to know, is it possible for the police to use radar while they’re driving in the opposite direction?

I’m so sorry to hear about your ticket! Unfortunately for your ticket, yes, police can use radar while driving in the opposite direction, thanks to having high-powered radar guns.
Typically police cars are equipped with a hand-held radar gun and stationary radar installed within the vehicle. These radar devices can detect the
speed
of other cars while the police car is in motion. That means if you pass a police car that’s traveling in the opposite direction and its radar equipment detects that you are speeding, the officer may decide to pull you over and hand you a ticket.
If a speeding ticket has caused a spike in your insurance premium, you can still find good
