Can I wash a car with an electric pressure washer?
I bought a new car and I want to take good care of it and keep it looking new. Should I use my electric pressure washer to clean it, or will that damage the paint?

Congrats on your new car! It’s always exciting to get a new set of wheels. When it comes to
keeping it clean
with a pressure washer, the jury is still out.
Some say the risks of using a pressure washer on your car are too high. Using too much power can damage your paint which will likely lead to rust. Experts also say that a pressure washer can get water into places you don’t want it to go like your engine.
Others argue that if set at the right pressure (between 1,200 and 1,900psi), pressure washers are safe to use on modern cars and make the job of cleaning a car much easier. Using it under the hood still isn’t a good idea, though.
And just to clarify, there is no difference between using an electric or a gas-powered pressure washer on your car. It’s the psi count you want to pay attention to, not the energy source of your pressure washer.
