Can I take a driving test in Texas if my name isn't on the auto insurance policy?
I've been to the DMV in Waco numerous times to try to take my driving test, but the instructor refuses to let me take the test because my name isn't on the insurance, even though it's my mother's car. What should I do?

“It’s rare that the person giving the exam would reject you if the car is insured under your parent or legal guardian. In most instances, you can use a friend or family member’s car to take the exam, provided that they’re insured and give you permission to use the car.
So the question remains: is your mother with you when you go to the DMV in Waco? If not, bring her along next time with all of the proper
car insurance
paperwork. If they don’t let you take the test, ask to talk with a supervisor. This isn’t normal, but seeing as how it’s happened numerous times, there might be something that you’re missing.”
