Can I sleep in my car at a campsite?
I’m going on a road trip out West to visit several national parks. While I’m aware that some national parks don’t allow you to sleep in your car overnight, campgrounds near the national park might. Is it possible to sleep in your car at a campsite?

What an epic road trip! And to top it off, you can definitely sleep in your car at a campsite, both inside and outside of national parks. However, you may have to pay campground fees, reserve a spot, and obey other park rules to stay.
If you can’t get a reservation, private campsites offer places to sleep in your car. Alternatively, you can look for a nearby U.S. Bureau of Land Management area, which allows you to sleep for free.
