“In most cases, you are required to be with your vehicle when the service provider arrives. This is to ensure the vehicle is properly cared for. They also normally check to ensure that you’re the owner of the roadside assistance plan.
Very rarely would a company allow you to leave the vehicle for them to pick up. If estimated wait times are too long, they’ll often have you request service from another company and reimburse you.
If you need to leave the vehicle for any reason, it would be best to inform your roadside assistance provider. They’ll likely try to arrange a time when you’re able to be back at the vehicle for service.”
