Can I drive a rental car out of state?

I am traveling from Washington to Oregon. I don't own a car and would like to rent one. Can I take a rental car out of state?

“Most rental car companies allow you to take a rental car out of state.
However, you should inform them if you are driving out of state. If you’re not planning on returning the vehicle to the same location, you’ll also want to be sure they know what location you plan on returning it to. This can help you avoid extra taxes and fees that rental companies tack on if you don’t inform them before you pick the car up.
As the
minimum coverage car insurance
varies from state to state, you’ll want to have the proper coverage when driving through multiple states.
You can get
rental car insurance
through the rental car company or a
non-owner car insurance
policy with an insurance company company. Both of these coverages will ensure you’re protected should you get into an accident and either damage the vehicle or injure another driver.
If you drive across state lines frequently and don’t own a car, shop rates for non-owner car insurance using the
Jerry
app. In just minutes, you can compare rates from some of the top insurers around the country.”
