Can I do a GMC Canyon windshield replacement myself?

My GMC Canyon has a huge crack in it, but I’d rather not pay to have it replaced. Is that something I can do myself or not?

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that your windshield is cracked! As for whether or not you can do a
GMC Canyon
windshield replacement yourself or not, the short answer is no—you cannot. Replacing a windshield takes a good amount of care, expertise, and specialized equipment. If you haven’t done that sort of thing before, it’s best to leave it to the professionals.
First off, it’ll be pretty difficult to get the right replacement parts. Even if you get them, being inexperienced, you’re very likely to end up breaking and/or cracking the new windshield as well. Besides that, getting the right amount of pressure to ensure a good seal is no easy task—to say nothing of the tools and equipment you’d have to buy.
If you’re worried about the cost, you can always check your
car insurance
policy to see if you might be able to get some of the replacement paid for.
If not, it might be time for new car insurance anyway. You can shop for policies that have the coverage you need, pick your favorite, and get switched over in just a few minutes using the quick and convenient insurance comparison

Best of all, drivers who use Jerry save an average of $800+ on their insurance—which should be more than enough to cover the cost of the replacement.
