Can I do a GMC Canyon windshield replacement myself?
My GMC Canyon has a huge crack in it, but I’d rather not pay to have it replaced. Is that something I can do myself or not?

windshield replacement yourself or not, the short answer is no—you cannot. Replacing a windshield takes a good amount of care, expertise, and specialized equipment. If you haven’t done that sort of thing before, it’s best to leave it to the professionals. First off, it’ll be pretty difficult to get the right replacement parts. Even if you get them, being inexperienced, you’re very likely to end up breaking and/or cracking the new windshield as well. Besides that, getting the right amount of pressure to ensure a good seal is no easy task—to say nothing of the tools and equipment you’d have to buy.
