Can a landlord claim a new boiler?

I just had to replace the boiler in my building. Those things aren’t cheap. And, since a busted boiler constitutes an emergency, I had to pay extra for the rushed installation. Could I claim a new boiler on my taxes?

A landlord can claim tax relief for a new boiler, provided that your insurance hasn’t already covered the cost for you. If the new boiler wasn’t covered by your insurance, then you should be able to claim it as an “allowable expense.”
If you’ve already been compensated for the boiler by your insurance provider, then won’t be able to claim it as you can’t receive reimbursement twice for one item.
