Are we ready for autonomous driving?

Is our society ready for autonomous driving? Self-driving cars seem really cool in theory, but I can’t help but think that we might not be ready for them yet. I’ve seen articles about the systems malfunctioning, so I’m just worried that the tech is being rolled out before it’s perfected.

This question is being hotly debated by experts right now. Some people argue that we aren’t ready for autonomous driving quite yet because the technology needs some perfecting. While
self-driving cars
are typically pretty safe, the driver should still watch the road in case of an error in the system even when the self-drive function is engaged.
However, it’s also worth noting that most car accidents are a result of human error—driving while intoxicated, texting and driving, or sleep deprivation, for example—rather than technological failure. Unlike human beings, self-driving cars are solely focused on the driving task. They won’t get tired or bored, so they will be constantly alert to hazards in your path.
Whether you’re driving yourself or letting your car do the work for you, you’ll need an insurance policy to keep yourself safe. The
