Are Texas toll roads free for disabled veterans?

I’m a veteran who is disabled and my family and I are getting ready to move to Texas. I know they have quite a few toll roads around the big cities down there, but I heard they’re free for veterans with disabilities.

Thank you for your service, and congratulations on your family’s move to Texas! While not all toll roads in Texas are free for disabled veterans, the Mobility Authority’s Qualified Veterans Discount Program waives tolls on many Mobility Authority roads for eligible veterans. To benefit from this program, you’ll need to:
  • Register your vehicle with the State of Texas
  • Display a qualifying specialty license plate
Enrolling in discount programs is a great way to save money on your Texas toll expenses, but you can save even more money by shopping for
