Kia warranties are 100% transferable at no added cost to you. All you need to do is call the dealership where you purchased the Kia and transfer ownership of the warranty. You’ll need to provide the dealership with your vehicle identification number (VIN) and the new owner’s information, including their name, phone number, and address.
However, you should note that the Kia warranty changes when you sell the car privately. The 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty remains, but the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty shifts to a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. If your car is more than 5 years old or has more than 60,000 miles, you don’t have any active warranties to transfer.
