Are hybrid cars high maintenance?

I’m considering buying a hybrid for my next car purchase, but I do have reservations about properly maintaining one. Are they a lot of work?

Good news—you shouldn’t have any more reservations about a hybrid than a strictly gasoline-powered car. The only thing that might need additional maintenance in a hybrid car is the battery air filter. Not all hybrids require this, however, and they typically only need to be changed every 10,000 miles.
Hybrid vehicles also run on gasoline, so they need the same level of maintenance as any other car. This includes:
  • Regular engine maintenance
  • Oil changes
  • Tire rotations
  • Transmission fluid changes
If you have concerns about an expensive
battery
replacement, all hybrid models come with a lengthy warranty window with 100% coverage.
The
brake pads
on a hybrid usually don’t need to be serviced as frequently as a gasoline-powered car. You won’t spend as much money on gas and your engine will experience less wear and tear.
