Good question, thanks for asking! Tesla’s
full lineup is all-electric—even their discontinued model was a fully electric vehicle (EV). Tesla currently makes four models—two sedans and two SUVs. The sedans are the Tesla Model 3, a compact sedan, and the Tesla model S, a mid-size sedan. The Model Y compact SUV and Model X are the two SUVs. Each of these are electric battery-powered vehicles, built on a base of battery packs that power the car.
Aside from these models, Tesla only ever made one other car, which was the all-electric Tesla Roadster
. This was the first car they ever manufactured, and was in production from 2008-2012. This was a supercar, made to compete with high-powered combustion sports cars like Lamorghini or Ferrari. In the future, Tesla is looking to release two new cars, both of which have experienced delays. The first is a brand new model, the Tesla Cybertruck, which was supposed to be out in late 2021.
Now a prospect for 2023, the Cybertruck is essentially a futuristic version of an armored vehicle/SUV. The windows are bulletproof (theoretically) and it will have a large body, but it’s meant to also have stellar performance equivalent to a sports car.
The other car waiting to be released is a revived Tesla Roadster. The Roadster was meant to make its comeback in 2021 too, but COVID has pushed those plans back to 2023. The new Roadster will have some incredible speed, as Tesla is aiming to make it the fastest car on the planet. However, it remains to be seen whether Tesla will actually be able to take their EV to those heights.
