Who's at fault after I was rear-ended at an intersection?
When I approached an intersection, the traffic light turned red and I had to come to a quick stop, though I didn't slam on my brakes. A van behind me didn't stop in time and rear-ended my car. Both vehicles were scraped up, though the van got the worst of it. Who's at fault in this collision?

The details surrounding any car accident can differ. However, generally speaking, if someone rear-ends you, that party is typically found to be at fault. Anytime that you’re involved in an accident, you always want to call your car insurance company to document what happened. Also, be sure to obtain a police report for your records.
