What is the Nissan Armada?
The Nissan Armada is described by U.S. News as being the, "largest model in Nissan’s broad SUV and crossover lineup." The car can seat either seven or eight people total, depending on if you choose the model with a second row bench or second row captain’s seats.
The newest 2021 model of the Nissan Armada is definitely improved from its previous models. The car comes equipped with a sleek new exterior and impressive interior updates, like a 12.3 inch touchscreen system for navigation, a WiFi hotspot, and quilted leather appointed seats.
This large SUV is marketed by Nissan as having room for, "crew, cargo, and more" and as being the perfect car for anything from
family trips
to moving. But, at an average price point of $48,500, it definitely isn’t the cheapest option for an SUV
. Why is it the most reliable SUV?
U.S. News gave the Nissan Armada a 91 out of a possible 100 for reliability rating. The Armada comes in an entire point higher than its second place competitor, the 2021 BMW X6.
U.S. News determines the reliability ratings of new cars like the 2021 Nissan Armada and the 2021 BMW X6 by examining the predicted reliability determined by J.D. Power. The predicted reliability score is based on the car model’s last three years historical initial quality and dependability. These factors are decided by data from J.D Power’s Vehicle Dependability Study and Initial Quality Study.
The 2021 Nissan Armada has ranked highly since 2021 in terms of quality and dependability, which earned the car its top spot on the list.

While the Nissan Armada performed well in the most reliable SUV category, it didn’t score as highly in other U.S. News ratings.

, the Nissan Armada came in at the bottom of the list, ranked number five out of six. While the Armada is described as having a nice, powerful engine, it lost points for not being as spacious as many of its competitors. It also had bad fuel-economy ratings and unwieldy handling. But, the top two cars on the overall best large SUVs list, the 2021 Ford Expedition and the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, both don’t even make the list of most reliable SUVs. While both cars are ranked highly overall for their impressive engines, comfortable and spacious seating, and massive cargo storage space, neither even come close to the reliability of the Nissan Armada.
