How to replace a lost driver’s license in Colorado

To request a duplicate Colorado driver’s license, you must visit a driver's license office in person. Unlike many other states, you are not able to request a replacement online
If it’s only been 30 to 90 days since your license was issued, you won’t have to pay any fees—otherwise, you’ll have to pay a $12 duplicate fee.
Schedule an appointment at your local driver’s license office using the Colorado DMV’s
appointment scheduling portal
. Choose “Renew Colorado License/Identification Card” when you’re designating your appointment type.
Once you’re at your appointment, you’ll have to declare your license as lost, stolen, or destroyed to be approved for a duplicate. Note that you are technically not replacing your license—your duplicate will have the same expiration date, class, and endorsements.
You should receive your duplicate license within 30 days of your appointment. If you don’t, check its status using this service on
myDMV.Colorado.gov
.

Replacing a stolen Colorado driver’s license

If you believe your Colorado license was stolen, you can request a duplicate by following the same steps for a lost license, but you may want to report the theft to local law enforcement
If you’re concerned about identity theft, you can request a new license (as opposed to a duplicate). First, you must file a report for local law enforcement. Then, take the police report with a notarized
affidavit of identity theft
to your driver’s license office
appointment
.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
