Don’t worry—checking your tire pressure manually is easy. First, remove the valve stem and place the tire pressure gauge’s stem onto the tire’s uncovered stem. Once you do this, you’ll get a reading, and you can add or remove air from your tire as necessary. You can use a portable tire pressure gauge at home to do this, or go to any gas station and use the tire pressure gauge attached to the air-filling station.
That all said, there are other signs that your tire pressure is off—decreased driving performance, poor steering, and an uneven ride are all warning signs. If you aren’t sure what the issue is, check your tire pressure just to be sure.

How to tell if your Volkswagen Atlas needs new tires

So you’ve properly refilled the air in your tires, but the TPMS light is still on. Here’s how to easily reset your Atlas’ tire pressure monitoring system.
First, stop the vehicle and turn off your engine. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Now, turn the ignition on but don’t restart the engine. Press the Menu button, and then tap on Vehicle Menu. Now touch Settings, and then tap on Tires. Now you should see a TPMS Menu on your screen. Touch Set and then select Confirm to execute the system reset. And you’re done!
