background
The paint code for your Mini Cooper is on the front passenger’s side firewall. If you don’t see it there, it may be on the passenger’s side strut tower. Otherwise, you can use the Mini’s VIN number to look it up online or get it from the dealership.
Over time, every car acquires minor dings and scratches. While they are common, these blemishes can really impact the overall appearance of your car.
If you don’t want to go through the hassle of getting a whole new coat of paint, you can use some Mini Cooper touch-up paint to cover small spots as long as you have the paint code
The paint code is a three-character code comprising letters and/or numbers that tells you exactly what paint you need.

Where can I find my Mini’s paint code?

You can find the paint code for your Mini on the label that is located either on the front passenger’s side firewall or the passenger’s side strut tower. It will be on a small label that should have a description of the color, such as “Electric Blue” or “Pure Silver.” Underneath that, you’ll see a three-digit code: that is your paint code.
Once you have the paint code, you can use
this chart
to find the details of your Mini’s specific color. You’ll see the name (the same one that’s on the label) as well as any other information about the color you might need.

What if there’s no paint code on the car’s label?

If your label is too worn to read or has fallen off, don’t panic. You can also look up the color code using your car’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
The VIN is a 17-character long code made up of numbers and letters. It’s unique to each car and specifies the particular traits of your Mini Cooper.
Here’s where you can find your
Mini VIN
:
  • On the label that is situated on top of the dash, under the windshield, and on the driver’s side (right in front of the steering wheel). You’ll be able to see it through the windshield.
  • In the front of the engine block, on the driver's side door jamb, near the container for the windshield washer fluid, and on your car’s title document and registration.
Once you have the VIN, you can go online to a Mini website or call the dealership to find the paint code.
