, Jerry can help with that, too. How does Hyundai Roadside Assistance work?
Five-year roadside assistance coverage takes effect on all new Hyundais starting the day it is delivered to the buyer. The 24/7/365 protection is available in all 50 states as well as Canada and completely covers the cost of the first two roadside assistance events in 12 months—charges will come out of pocket after your second roadside call in a calendar year.
Hyundai Roadside Assistance offers several solutions and covers the following services:
Hyundai will not reimburse any damage costs related to collisions, racing, or any other event not covered by the Hyundai New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Assistance also is not offered for off-road conditions as the vehicle must be accessible from a publicly maintained road to qualify for Hyundai’s service.
Keep in mind that there are certain limitations and conditions to some of the services offered. For example, to receive trip interruption benefits, you must be at least 150 miles from your home, your vehicle must be disabled overnight, and reimbursement is capped at $100 per day for no more than three days.
How to use Hyundai Roadside Assistance
Hyundai Roadside Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by calling the toll-free number 1-800-243-7766. After you are connected with a representative, be prepared to give them the following information:
Many Hyundais produced after 2013 are also equipped with Bluelink Connected Care to make the process even easier. By simply pushing a button on your rearview mirror, your exact location will be sent to the Hyundai Service Center.
What if my Hyundai warranty expired?
It is still possible to cover your vehicle with roadside assistance by adding theHyundai Protection Plan
. This is the extended warranty offered by Hyundai that protects you with around-the-clock roadside assistance, as well as: Nationwide service at participating Hyundai dealerships
This added coverage will cost you extra but could prove to be very helpful if you’re ever hindered by any mechanical issues—or if you just want the peace of mind knowing you’re always protected.
Is Hyundai Roadside Assistance worth it?
If your Hyundai is still under its five-year warranty, consider yourself lucky because you are still eligible for their excellent roadside assistance services at no extra cost. If your Hyundai is not under warranty, though, paying to extend your warranty may not be worth it.
Hyundai offers three levels of protection: Platinum, Gold, and Powertrain. Each level offers 24/7 roadside assistance, as well as several other valuable services, but the cost can run you an extra $350 to $750 per year.
At the end of the day, you have to do what best fits your budget and ask yourself what level of coverage you truly feel is worth it. There are other less expensive options out there if paying for Hyundai’s roadside assistance program is not the best fit for you.
