That depends on the model year for your Ridgeline. If you’re driving a 2006 to 2014 Ridgeline, Honda recommends inflating the tires to 32 psi for both front and rear tires. You can also find this information in your owner’s manual or driver’s doorjamb.

How to check Honda Ridgeline tire pressure

Your Honda Ridgeline is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) which will illuminate on the dash if the tire pressure drops significantly. If this light comes on, it’s time to check the tire pressure!

Whether or not your Ridgeline has TPMS, checking the tire pressure is straightforward. Unscrew the valve stem cap on the tire and push a tire pressure gauge onto the stem. You’ll hear a hiss, and the indicator will extend to give you a reading. Use the reading to know how much air to add or remove.

It’s so simple to check tire pressure that you can do it at home, at the gas station (near the air-filling unit), or whenever you’re on the road—just find a safe place to pull off, first!

Don’t worry if you forget the recommended psi. You can pull up this handy Jerry guide or look on the inner doorjamb of the driver’s side where it’s listed. Your Ridgeline also has a tire fill assist feature, which begins beeping and flashing lights when you’ve reached optimum psi.

How often should you check tire pressure?

Plan on checking the Ridgeline’s tire pressure once a month or before you head out on any big road trips.

It’s also a good idea to check the tires after the first cold weather of the season or if you notice your Ridgeline is driving strangely. It only takes a minute!

How to tell if your Honda Ridgeline needs new tires

While you’re checking the tire pressure, take a look at how your Honda’s tires are wearing. Honda recommends that you replace them at least once every six years or if you notice:

Dominant cracks or bubbles

Strange bulges

Low tread depth (2/32” or below)

Consistently low tire pressure

The tire sidewall is punctured

How to reset the Honda Ridgeline tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light

It’s annoying to see the TPMS light illuminated on the dashboard when you know the tires are properly inflated. Fortunately, there’s a quick fix for that!

To reset the TPMS, you’ve got to calibrate it. Turn your Ridgeline on and keep it in Park—you’ll also need to set the parking brake. Then, look for the TPMS button on the dash and press it until the TPMS symbol blinks twice. If you don’t have a TPMS button, use the touchscreen to select “TPMS calibration.”

To finish the process, drive your Ridgeline for about 30 minutes going 30 mph to 60 mph. This resets the tire pressure and recalibrates TPMS. You’ll see the TPMS light switch off.

If for some reason the TPMS light is still illuminated, there might be a malfunction with TPMS and you’ll need to have it checked out at a Honda dealership. Or, it might just mean that you need to check the tire pressure in your spare tire. Inflate your spare, then repeat the calibration process.
