First, check to see if you even need a radio code.If your radio is not responding, hold the power button down for a few seconds. Hopefully, this may restart your radio and get you back in working order.
If not, you’ll need to find your radio code. A radio code is a five-digit number usually written on a decal inside your glove box. It may be on the underside of the engine compartment fuse box or the trunk jamb if you don't see it there.
The radio code could also be on the anti-theft radio identification card inside your owner’s manual.
Wherever you find the sticker, it’ll list two numbers: your radio’s serial number and the five-digit radio code.

The VIN is 17-digits long and documented in many places, including:
- The base of your windshield
- On your registration
- On insurance documents
- On a sticker on the driver’s side door jamb
You can get your radio’s serial number from the radio itself. First, put your car in the ON position. Then, press and hold the first and sixth radio preset buttons and turn on your radio. The eight-digit serial number should flash across the radio’s screen.
