The last big change to the Porsche 718 came in 2017 when the six-cylinder engines were swapped out for turbocharged flat-fours. New GT4 RS
The biggest news with the 2022 Porsche 718 was the new performance-oriented GT4 RS
variant. The RS weighs less, has bigger brakes, and has more rear camber. It also has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which comes standard. The GT4 RS is simply better tuned for racing than prior Porsche 718 models, which is how the RS earned its racing class designation.
You’ll have to pay a pretty penny to get your hands on the RS. But if you have $143,050 lying around and you want to buy a race car, then you could definitely do worse than the Porsche 718 GT4 RS.
Customized appearance
There are two new exterior paint colors available with the 2022 Porsche 718. Frozen Berry will cost you $650, and Shark Blue Metallic (from the family of unique colors) will cost you an additional $2,580.
Porsche is willing to cover pretty much anything with leather, so long as you can pay. New leather accessories like key pouches, floor mats, and owner’s manual covers are available with the 2022 718.
