The car featured a FWD transverse powertrain, lots of cargo room, and additional storage space under the carpeted loaded floor. Unfortunately, the Ford Taurus Station Wagon was discontinued by the 1990s to focus on the Ford Taurus Sedan.

In the ‘80s, the Chevrolet Caprice Classic station wagon was made into a luxurious vehicle, with the addition of full wheel covers instead of hubcaps, a hood ornament, features to make the cabin quieter for drivers, an electric clock, more quality materials on the inside, dual horns, power windows, and more.
On top of that, the ‘80s station wagon featured a three-speed automatic and a 120 hp, 4.4-liter, two-barrel V8 engine. If drivers chose, they could upgrade the engine to a 150 hp, 5-liter V8 engine to go with more upgraded materials inside like a vinyl-bench seat and a vinyl-coated textured metal in the cargo area.
