A “Last Call” for Dodge’s most iconic cars

Saying goodbye to a beloved model year or generation can be hard, but getting seven “Last Call” limited-edition models out of it sure sweetens the deal.
According to
Car and Driver
, the seven models are being released as part of what Dodge calls “Speed Week,” and six of the seven will have some connection to the company’s historic legacy.
The seventh and final “Last Call” special edition will be revealed in November at the SEMA tuner show.
Each model also comes with a commemorative “Last Call” plaque under the hood, featuring the silhouette of the model and the vehicle name.
The highly-customizable special edition models will be available in 14 exterior paint options including three heritage colors: B5 Blue, Plum Crazy Purple, and Sublime Green.

All about the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown

The new 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown has a few generations of history behind it. The car is based on a concept car of the same name that premiered at the 2016 SEMA show, but
Car and Driver
reported that the concept was based on a retrofitted 1971 Challenger.
To add to its vintage appeal, a set of retro racing stripes adorn the length of the car, starting at the grille, going up across the hood, and ending at the tail.
At first glance, the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown may look old-fashioned, but this car is anything but. The interior of the Shakedown includes black leather seats, microsuede accents, and red contrast stitching.
Not only that, but all Shakedown models come with the option to be upgraded to carbon fiber and a microsuede interior trim, a technology package, a more.
The Technology package includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and rain-sensing windshield wipers while the Plus package provides a heated steering wheel and power-adjustable steering column.

Get it while it’s hot

Only 1000 units of the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown are going to be made, so if you’re interested, you better get in line.
The 1000 total units include two variants: 500 copies based on the
Challenger R/T Scat Pack
and 500 of the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. Both come with the 485-hp 6.4-liter V-8 and either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
Dodge has yet to release pricing details, but orders will open later this fall. To get an idea of where pricing might start, the 2022 Challenger R/T Scat Pack starts at $52,000, while the Widebody variant tacks on another $10 grand.
The average cost of insurance for a 2022 Dodge Challenger lands at around $2,121 a month. That’s just over the average cost to insure all Dodge models, and a pricier special-edition model is likely to cost even more to insure.
