The new 2023 GMC Canyon off-road trim

The biggest new addition to the 2023 GMC Canyon lineup is the AT4X off-road trim. The AT4X will have an impressive 10.7 inches of ground clearance, produced by a factory 3-inch lift and mud terrain tires. Not only will the ground clearance make it easy for drivers to drive through any terrain, but the mud tires ensure they won’t get stuck in a sticky situation.
Beyond the ground clearance, drivers have the option to add the all-new Edition 1 package to their AT4X or other trim. The Edition 1 adds extra cameras, bumpers, light bars, 17-inch beadlock capable wheels and a winch. All of these features will aid drivers in creating the ultimate off-roading experience.
As for the exterior,
Car and Driver
reports that in a teaser revealed earlier this month features such as a chunky front bumper with a large bull bar rising out of the front grille, a blacked out grille, and auxiliary fog lights are noticeable.
Plus, front headlights seem to be broken into two sections, with the upper part consisting of LED daytime running lights and the lower section featuring the main headlights.
The 2023 AT4X GMC Canyon with the Edition 1 package will cost an estimated $64,000, while the same trim without the package will cost around $58,000.

More on the 2023 GMC Canyon

The GMC Canyon is essentially the counterpart to the
Chevrolet Colorado
, which allows us to predict details that haven’t been completely confirmed yet. While GMC has confirmed that the AT4X will use a 2.7-liter, inline four engine with 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, it hasn't yet announced the official powertrain for other Canyon trims.
However, based on the Colorado and AT4X offering, we can speculate they’ll use 2.7-liter, inline fours at different power levels, plus an eight speed automatic transmission.
And, according to
Car and Driver
, GMC has also updated the technology inside of the Canyon for the 2023 model, which was much needed. Some notable features include a digital gauge cluster behind the steering wheel, underbody cameras, a head-up display, easily accessible cupholders, an infotainment display system and a great Bose sound system.
