The Ford Maverick is a great pickup truck, but the car brand
is kicking things up a notch and adding some serious muscle to the vehicle with the new 2023 Ford Maverick pickup truck, designed especially for offroading
. New and improved for the 2023 model year, the Ford Maverick adds a Tremor Package that takes it from a standard, compact pickup to the ultimate off-road experience. Here’s what you need to know about this serious pickup truck upgrade.
What is the Ford Maverick?
Before we jump into the upgrades available on the 2023 Ford Maverick, let’s go over the basics of this pickup truck.
The Ford Maverick
was launched in 2021 as a more affordable entry point to pickup trucks, with the base price for an XL starting at just under $22,500. The Maverick has a hybrid engine that produces an overall fuel economy rating of 42mpg, which is impressive for a pickup truck. According to Car and Driver
, over 13,000 Ford Mavericks were sold in 2021, and in the first half of 2022, the pickup truck saw an additional 38,753 sales. With the latest edition of the Tremor Package for 2023, Ford is hoping to continue increasing those sales numbers by providing drivers with a unique adventuring experience.
What is the 2023 Ford Maverick with Tremor Package?
The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor Package is a unique set of features that will make the pickup truck well equipped for offroading and adventuring in all terrains.
The Tremor Package will only be available as an upgrade to the Ford Maverick luxury trims, the XLT, and Lariat. Both trucks feature a turbocharged 2-liter, inline-four engine. It costs an extra $2995 on top of the base price of either trim.
The Tremor Package will include a retuned suspension with a 17-inch wheel and an all-terrain tire package. All these features combined will give the truck 9.4 inches of ground clearance.
According to Fox News
, that’s .8 inches more than any other Maverick. On top of that, the package includes a new all-wheel drive system with a twin-clutch rear drive locking differential, which should make off-road driving easier. Plus, the package features five drive modes depending on the type of terrain, which means this car can be ready for anything. Bright orange towing hooks allow it to pull 2,000 pounds and haul a 1,200-pound payload.
The orange color is standard on the Maverick with the package, appearing on the hooks, wheels, and more, but drivers can pay an additional $1495 for the Tremor Appearance, which changes the accent color from orange to gray and black.
