Why won't the windshield wipers turn on in my Ford Explorer?

I tried to turn on my windshield wipers yesterday, but they wouldn’t turn on. We’re supposed to get some rain soon, so I won’t be able to drive until I get them fixed. Why won't the windshield wipers turn on in my Ford Explorer?

I’m sorry to hear about your windshield wipers, but I’m glad you’re being safe with your driving.
Windshield wipers are like
car insurance
policies—you don’t know how much you appreciate them until you need them! If the windshield wipers in your
Ford Explorer
won’t turn on, odds are there is a problem with the wiper motor.
The wiper motor is responsible for powering the windshield wiper system and moving the blades across the windshield. Wiper motors have a low expectation of failure, and typically fail due to age. A failed windshield wiper motor will need to be replaced in order for your wipers to work again.
Routine maintenance is important to keep your Ford Explorer in full working order, and you can protect your car with the right car insurance policy.
