Why isn't my name on the car insurance card, even though I'm insured?

I'm listed on my mom policy, but my name isn't on the insurance card. Why is that?

card usually only lists the named insured, who is the person who bought the policy on the vehicle and pays for it. In this case, the named insured is your mom.
