Why Is The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing So Much More Expensive Than The Base Trim?
I’ve had my eye on a 2022 Cadilac CT5-V for a while. When I was ready, I went to the dealership but the one I had seen was gone. They had another, which looked a little different, the guy said it was the “Blackwing trim”—whatever that means. But it was almost double the price! What’s so special about the Blackwing version? Why’s it so much more expensive?

Good question. The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is definitely a lot more expensive—its MSRP is $83,990, compared to the standard CT5-V’s MSRP of only $51,290. There are a lot of improvements from the standard CT5-V to the CT5-V Blackwing, but the main reason it’s so much more expensive is the upgraded engine.
The CT5-V has a V6 engine delivering 360hp and 405lb-ft of torque. The Blackwing, on the other hand, has a V8 engine pumping out 668hp and 659lb-ft of torque.
Whether you decide to get the standard 2022CT5-V, spring for the Blackwing, or go with another car altogether, don’t forget to use
