Why is a defective equipment charge raising my insurance rates?
"I got a defective equipment ticket 2 years ago and it's impacting my rates. I've been fighting with my insurance company about it and I don't think it's fair.
They say it's coming back on my CLUE report, but I don't think it should be impacting my rates. What should I do?"

Every car insurance company rates policies differently and has a variety of factors they look at to determine these rates. While it may seem unfair, you aren’t required to stay with your current insurance carrier.

carrier is offering you, you should look at other companies. There are plenty of companies who don’t weigh tickets or violations as heavily as others. As insurance is competitive, there are most likely other carriers who could offer you more

.You should look at a few different carriers to compare rates. Try larger companies as well as smaller ones to determine what the best rate will be for you.”
