Why don't electric cars charge themselves?

Shouldn’t electric cars charge themselves from the energy of driving? I don’t understand why you have to charge electric cars when you’re generating energy by driving in the first place.

It’s totally understandable that you’re confused!
Electric cars
can’t charge themselves because some of the energy is lost. Energy conversions aren’t 100% efficient because some of the energy dissipates during the conversion process in the form of heat.
However, your car recycles some energy through regenerative braking. Regenerative braking converts an electric vehicle’s kinetic energy into a form that is useable for the car’s battery.
While you’re learning more about electric vehicles, why not learn how to save on your car insurance, too? It’s quick and easy when you use the
