Why does my 2013 BMW 328i have a ticking noise from the engine?

I always have a few cars at my disposal—call me a bit of a gearhead. Anywho, I’m not the best with all the issues of my vehicles, and recently, my 2013 BMW 328i has started to make a weird ticking noise. I’m a bit concerned. Is this a problem? What’s the cause?

The 2013 BMW 328i isn’t known to have any particular issues with a ticking noise, or at least nothing that should cause a huge repair bill. It’s usually the result of a low oil level. Simply top off your oil in the engine, make sure that your oil dashboard light doesn’t come on, and you should be fine.
If the problem persists, you should take your car to a mechanic. Low oil levels typically cause this issue, but if it’s something else, you should get a diagnosis as soon as possible.
